Online poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many variations on the earliest poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling blackjack than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the bank instead of each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the dealer broadcasting "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the other gamblers are given 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the bank’s initial card, you must either make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s value is akin to your original wager, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your wager goes directly to the house. After the bet is the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, plus a sum on par with the original bet. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The dealer pays out cash even with your ante and controlled odds on your call wager.
