Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
April 6th, 2022 by Elliott

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only participant to achieve final table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest gamblers anywhere in the world. While wagering on web poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Hansen more often than not buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I know Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amount. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players in the world could be guys you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be found betting on online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in high stakes omaha hi-low and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in cash rounds?
